Resource Conservation and Development Area

The NRCS Resource Conservation and Development Program (RC&D), facilitates the acceleration of conservation, development and use of natural resources to improve the general level of economic activity and enhance the environmental and standard of living within RC&D areas. The San Joaquin County RCD recently introduced the idea of forming an RC&D for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta area to the Delta Protection Commission (DPC). The DPC is taking the lead in evaluating interest in and the potential benefits of forming a Resource Conservation and Development Area for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta's Primary Zone. At present, ideas for a potential RC&D area are focused on promoting economic development through the use of existing Delta resources.
